Angela Bravo, born in Stockholm is a Stockholm/ Berlin based filmdirector and artist. She moves and explores the borders between documentary and fiction, narrating a story regardless if its through film, photo, sculpture or installation. She started her filmstudies at the Documentary Film School Biskops Arnö in 2001, and continued her studies of fine art and film at The Royal Academy of Fine Art in Stockholm and later filmscript at Brobygrafiska Högskolan in Karlstad in 2007. In 2008/2009 she participated as guest student in the class of Hito Steyerl at The UDK, Universität der Kunst in Berlin.

Her latest animated documentary ”Alla vill till himlen/Everyone needs a heaven” was nominated to best shortfilm in Uppsala Short Filmfestival, best childmovie at BUFF and best shortfilm at the NYICFF in New York 2010.

Angela Bravo has been selected and supported by the Swedish Art Grant Commitee since moving towards directing. In 2009/2010 Angela was selected to ”12 for the future” a Nordic Coproduction workshops for young directors to establish contacts within the Nordic Market.

At present Angela Bravo is participating in ”The young talent director program” for 2010/2011 that the region of Stockholm is supporting. She is one of four directors that the region support and highlight during 2010/2011. Her latest documentary under development ” Within” 90 min have been selected to participate at the Doc Station in the Berlinale in 2011.

Her shortmovies, has been shown in national and international festivals such as Göteborgs Filmfestival, Stockholm Film festival, BUFF, Animotion, Leipzig documentary filmfestival, Arizona Filmfestival, NYICFF, Seattle Filmfestival, Buster in Denmark and many others.
